About Margaret
Founder of AquaTerres · Animal care rooted in decades of hands-on experience

My experience in animal care began in 1996 as a volunteer at a local zoo, where I spent four years working hands-on with animal care and public education. That experience sparked a lifelong commitment to animal welfare and husbandry.
I hold an A.S. in Zoo Animal Science Technology from Santa Fe Community College and a B.S. in Zoology from Oswego State University. Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked across a wide range of professional roles, including corporate trainer, veterinary technician, wildlife rehabilitator, zookeeper, zoo registrar, and zoo curator.
After decades in the animal field, life brought me back home to the farm and into a new career in real estate — while continuing the work I care deeply about through AquaTerres.
AquaTerres is what I call leveled-up pet sitting.
I provide in-situ animal care for special-needs pets, exotics, homesteads, and farms, supporting families who need knowledgeable, responsible care while they’re away. My goal is simple: to ensure animals receive proper husbandry and care so their people can leave home with confidence and peace of mind.
