Field Notes From The Marge: February 2026

Hi friends,

February showed up different than January.

January was quiet and foundational. February had a little more movement to it — the good kind.

Here’s the February edition of Field Notes.

Field Notes: Work Shenanigans

(Real Estate, Recognition & Forward Motion)

February included one of my favorite annual traditions — the Gambino awards banquet.

I was honored with a Silver Level award this year, which feels really good. Not because of the certificate (although recognition is nice), but because it represents trust. Clients trusting me with big decisions. Conversations that turned into contracts. Work that turned into closings.

It’s never just about volume. It’s about showing up consistently and doing the work well. So I’m grateful. And proud. And also immediately back to work because that’s how this goes.

Real estate itself this month was steady — ongoing conversations, long-term planning with clients, two properties under contract, and continuing to meet people where they actually are instead of where the market headlines say they “should” be.

The quiet work continues.

(The Human Side)

February also included birthday celebrations with Tab and Jaime (a week traveling to Springfield and Kansas City), which was exactly what I needed. Good conversation. Familiar energy. The kind of visits that reset your brain in the best way.

February also meant showing up for family. We had a service for my Aunt JoAnn — she was a unique and fiercely independent woman who will absolutely be missed. It was one of those reminders that sometimes the most important thing you can do is just be there. This beautiful picture was taken the day my Aunt JoAnn passed — bold and unforgettable, like her.

Not every month is big or dramatic. Some months are about connection. About showing up. About the people who matter.

Looking Ahead:

March is already lining up to be fuller — more outward-facing things, more movement, more opportunities to serve and connect.

But I’m carrying February’s reminders with me:

  • Celebrate the wins.

  • Stay grounded in the relationships.

  • Keep building steadily.

If you’re thinking about buying, selling, land, small towns, or just want to talk something through without pressure, you know where to find me.

Thanks for being here.
